The Old Bakery is located in the down town area on Water Street overlooking scenic Old Harbor. There are two separate units at this inn, (one with ocean view, and one with views of the Island), each containing two bedrooms. The ocean view two bedroom unit has a queen bed and air-conditioning in each of the bedrooms, color TV, small refrigerator, private bathroom and a shared spacious deck that overlooks town and the ocean. The island view unit has a queen bed and air-conditioning in each of the two bedrooms, color TV, small refrigerator and a private bathroom. The island view unit also has access to the deck overlooking Old Harbor. Both units are appointed with ceiling fans.
The two bedroom suites at the Old Bakery are perfect for two couples traveling together or a small family. Save money by booking a suite rather than two separate hotel rooms and enjoy the view from the unparalleled deck that overlooks the harbor and the ocean beyond. New in 2020 each suite now has A/C!
The Old Bakery is located on Water Street, the main street of town, easy walking to shops, beaches, Old Harbor ferry landing, taxi stand, and bike and moped rentals. A car is not recommended for this down town location.
We require a 100% deposit on a Visa or Master Card or American Express for all reservations. Please note: While we normally request a 50% deposit, we have changed our deposit policy in an effort to reduce in-person contact on arrival due to the Covid-19 virus. Rentals will not include daily housekeeping for the 2020 season in an effort to reduce contact with our team. If you require trash pick up or fresh towels during your stay please contact our front desk office for the new protocol.
We are amending our cancelation policies for hotel rooms, guest rooms, and suites. We will require only one day's notice to cancel and receive your payment back less the $25 administrative fee. While we normally require six days' notice to issue a refund for a reservation, we understand that in these uncertain times, changes may need to be made with less notice. We want to reiterate that if you are feeling ill at all, please postpone your visit to Block Island for your safety and ours. If you would like to cancel, please contact our office either by email or by phone no later than 3 pm the day before you are scheduled to arrive. Within 24 hours of your check-in time, refunds will not be issued. Refunds are not issued for late arrivals or early departures.
Each two-bedroom suite can sleep up to four guests maximum. This property will accept a well-behaved dog for an additional fee of $50 per night for a small dog, under 25lbs, and $75 per night for a larger dog 25lbs or more. The owners reserve the right to adjust this fee to cover additional cleaning as needed. If you reserve your time online and plan to bring a dog, please call our office to notify us that your pet will be joining you. Pets may not be left unattended in the suites. Guests bringing a dog will be required to sign a pet agreement form on arrival. The Old Bakery has a two-night minimum stay at the weekend rate and three nights on holiday weeks.
A security deposit of $200 per suite will be collected on arrival payable on a credit card. This deposit will be fully refundable on departure as long as there are no additional guests, damage, smoking, or loud disturbances. Guests of the Old Bakery only are permitted on the deck (no more than four per suite). Smoking is not permitted inside the building or on the deck at the Old Bakery. We ask that guests be respectful of the property owners who reside in the third story of the Old Bakery Guest House. Quiet hours are observed from 10 pm to 9 am daily.
