The race, begun by Vin McAloon and Paul Riker in 1975, the Run Around the Block 15K Road Race is one of the oldest races in Rhode Island as well as New England. The timed race is a hilly, winding run along mostly paved roads with a stretch of dirt road that appears twice during the route. It begins at Isaac's Corner near Fresh Pond and ends at Fred Benson Town Beach Pavilion

There will be music, swimming, showers,
Burgers, hot dogs, snacks & non-alcoholic beverages for sale
at the Beach after the race
A box truck will be available at the start line for runners to stow their belongings in that will be taken to the end of the race. Items should be well marked with name & cell phone #. There will be limited room for bikes on a 1st come basis
T shirt/number pick-up Saturday, 11-12:30pm at the race start
also Friday, 4 -6:30pm in front of the Chamber office at the Ferry dock
