This is a fun, scenic, around the island pursuit race, now in its 14th year. This Race is sailed under the ECSA PHRF Class rules and counts as a "points" regatta on their Offshore Racing Circuit.
Skipper’s Meeting: 9:00 AM, The NH Boat Basin Picnic Tables, West Side Rd, Block Island, (accessible by land, dinghy or Old Port Launch in the Great Salt Pond)
First Start: 12:00 Noon: Each assigned start time will be distributed at the Skippers Meeting
Start – Finish: Between a Committee Boat and a buoy located just North of the entrance channel of the Great Salt Pond. This is a Pursuit Race. Each yacht will be assigned a starting time based on their PHRF Rating so that all boats, if well sailed, will finish the course at the same time!
Classes: There will be two classes, a Spinnaker (performance) Class, and a Non-spinnaker (cruising) Class.
Course: A 16.9 nm course, around the Island. Sailing instructions will be available online at the event web site: https://www.regattanetwork.com/event/31135 or at the skippers’ meeting.
Awards: Presented to the top three finishers in each class.
Awards Party: To follow the race at 1830. Location to be announced.
• Moorings, Docks, etc.: Marinas, Town moorings, and public anchorage are all available in the Great Salt Pond. There is a dinghy dock available for the skippers’ meeting.
• Fees: $40 per boat for preregistration online.
• Entries: Accepted through 0900 on Race Day; advance online entries only.
