2026 is the 29th year of Project Limulus' tagging and spawning survey efforts. Project Limulus (founded in 1997 by Dr. Jennifer Mattei) is a research project studying the ecology of Horseshoe Crabs (Limulus polyphemus) throughout Long Island Sound. This project is directed by Dr. Jo-Marie Kasinak, based at Sacred Heart University and relies heavily on the efforts of Community Scientists-you, and all interested members of the community.
Come learn about this important and fascinating animal, help tag individual Horseshoe Crabs, and assist with collecting data about their presence during peak mating period.
